Okay, so I have been an MLP Collector for years, and I guess I still sort of am, but I consider myself retired for the time being. Then I found Zelfs- does anyone else find it super refreshing to get into a toyline right when it's still new and fresh? It's the first time this has happened to me and I can't get over how awesome it feels to...
a) Start a new, different collection b) Be at the start of it where it's still easy to get most of the Zelfs you want, and c) Have a collection with so much variety and color and non traditional girly things in it!
I just really love Zelfs everyone, more so than I did until recently!

YES! That is totally how I feel right now. I also collect LPS and I'm kicking myself for not starting it when they first came out like I wanted to. Now there's so many that it's intimidating, and I missed out on a couple variants that were only available on eBay for a short time. With the Zelfs I feel really excited I was able to get on the ground floor of a collectable I hope is around a looong time. Moose seems to be doing fantastic with their Trash Pack line (they just released Series 7 and are planning an 8) so I am hoping Zelfs has the same success and follows similar patterns.

WOW! Someone said it! I am a total MLP collector, but here in the past year, I've been craving a new collection! MLP is back to it's old basic bore 7..x__x
I agree with Pegasue, I'd love for Zelfs to stay around, so we really should rally together to make sure it happens! I wonder if we could start an unnoffial fan club!?

And it might just be me but I love when things are "simple" to collect- as in not a lot going on yet, not a lot of accessories, just...nice it appeals to me a lot! And yeah I take great comfort in knowing that I don't need to catch up or anything! I also love zelfs because I feel like they're the perfect hybrid for me because they are fun enough to be kids toys and accessible but still cool enough where they fit well within an adult collection! Not that there's any strict definition there, but I hope that makes sense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's like they were made for eachother haha!

Yes! I think that being there from the very beginning can be really advantageous, since you can get your hands on figures that are usually the hardest to find later on down the line. Something I love about these gals (and guys!) is how diverse they are. We've got dragons, cats, a ballerina, even a spider - And they all share such adorable designs!

And their personalities (what snippets we've been given) sound so cute! I love that their artsy character is a werewolf, and that we've got a strong, protective girl character (Flamy), a gentle and nurturing boy (Birchy), etc etc. And a kitsune and a chinese dragon and a lochness monster.. so many creative ideas. I miss that from the MLP line. LPS does some really unique stuff occasionally (they recently did a narwhal and I went NUTS.) but there's just sooo many and they do a lot of the core cast rereleases that G4 ponies are suffering from. At least the Zelf rereleases have been a lot more interesting and they're just a few characters among a bunch of new faces.

For example with the new Rainbow Rocks line introduce 4 new rainbowfied ponies we've never seen and maybe two of the original cast! But we have our Zelfs to ride us over, and they really are a great role model for children! Flame is my niece's favorite one!

I need to agree completely. Getting in on the 'ground floor' (I think that's the term used) is such a refreshing feeling. Being able to get all the early ones with no hassle, and no running around trying to outbid someone on ebay or hunt down that one elusive one... Plus, like everyone has said, the Zelfs are totally adorable, and the creativity in the designs we're receiving is fantastic!

I think it's because they're very nature friendly too!

There is a lot of green in the Zelfs; while it does makes sense for the whole nature-friendly vibe of the adorable ones, I can't help but wonder if we'll get too flooded with green Zelfs.
Mind you, the creativity is still completely refreshing

It's my favorite color!

I love green too. Especially Luigi lime green Unfortunately the greenies don't sell well at my local TRU. They're all they ever seem to have in stock!

I love that, "Luigi Lime" haha think we can get Pantone to call it that? I know, when I tell people I like green they assume mint- which I also love, but my fave is bright acid slime green! Hehe. I've noticed that at my local shops too; the green Zelfs seem to be shelf-warming. I asked my Mum, and she said that green is considered an unlucky colour to a lot of people, so I wonder if that's anything to do with it. Probably not, but ... it's a thought.

Surprisingly, it was Garny and Howlette who shelf-sat here for the longest time.

I think most little girls are not attracted towards green or orange, considered as ''boy'' colours. That could explain why Lil'D is always the last on the shelf. =/

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk That would be amazing XD The brighter the green the better for me! WHAT NERVE Oh, that reminded me - Last time I was in London, they had loads of the large Flamy left over. I've also read of at least one grandparent return a Flamy because. Well. I'm sure you can imagine

I started collecting G4 MLP, EaH and Zelfs pretty much all from the beginning and it is nice. Before I had only collected Japanese(and some Korean) made toys. I remember thinking at one point, after years of collecting such harder to find toys, how cool is was to just be able go into a store like Target and buy the thing I collect.
Moose does several things with Zelfs that I wish Hasbro would do with MLP. Symbols/details printed on all sides, color variety, focus on unique interesting characters instead of accessory packs, gimmicks that are actually fun...

I'm thinking of a very nice way to put this. Right. Got it.
Hasbro have become overwhelmed by the out-of-the-target-audience support for the show, and do seem to be catering to them a little with some of the products that are released. Beyond that, they're sticking with things that have time and again proven to be sellers with the target audience, to the point where they aren't taking... well, not risks, but as big as steps with creativity? They can do it, I just think they need the right moment.

I love that The Zelfs use earth tones and themes, in addition to the bright happy cuteness usually associated with toys aimed at girls. A combo of both is perfect, in my opinion! And green is my favorite color, too.

Yesssssss I agree! Do you know, in real life I don't even like the color green! o.0 But all my fave Zelfs are green, maybe because it's a color that is so often left out of the girl toy lines. And the Zelfs are even brave enough to do colors that are usually real 'no nos' for toys, like black (Webina) and brown (Birchy).
