Ok, so I was enjoying a ren fair when I found at a kiosk these oddities
They look a little bit familiar, don't they? So I got one to inspect it closer.
If you think it's just a fakie Dreamwork Troll, here's the proof that it's not - not only is colorful with streaks, it also has got inset eyes and a power mark! This one's a sunflower, but it is a bit hard to distinguish it because of the colors (dull yellow against bright orange).
These fakies clearly take inspiration from the Zelfs, although their mold is nothing like them. I like the goblinesque face and the three-fingered hands and feet. The hands seem to be intended to hold something, but I'm not sure what. I think the one I bought is lovely (the blue one was cool too, but they're quite expensive for fakies, so I could only pick one), I'm going to call her Sunny Seed.
Here's a comparison pic of Sunny Seed next to Tressa. Sunny's got less hair than a regular Zelf, it is also not as soft and I'm pretty sure that if I brush her it'd get frizzy in no time. Oh well, that's fakies for you, I'm used to this.
So, remember she had a tag? Based on it, I tried to look up on the Internet for some more information about these toys, and guess what I found...
www.amazon.es/Trolls-Juguetes-juegos-Comansi/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=n%3A599385031%2Ck%3ATrolls%2Cp_n_featured_character_browse-bin%3A1643857031
Ok so apparently these are Spanish Zakies from Spain (the redundacy is intentional) A minor Spanish toy company makes them, and they make figures of popular cartoon characters too. They're even more expensive on Amazon, but I'm glad I get to see all the Zakies they have to offer. I think the green one is further evidence that this idea came from the Zelfs (at least their colors and power marks), since his colors are exactly Flamy's.
To be honest I'm pretty impressed that they're from my country. Most Spanish bootlegs come from Mexico, Argentina or other South-American countries. I'm glad I made this discovery, and Sunny is one more in my Zelf family.
