OK, so this is going to be a little bit weird, but bear with me!
I picked up Webina today, but I'm unsure of whether or not to keep her. I really like her design, and think she'd be a perfect friend for Dolly Moth, they even color-complement each other!
Everything is great...except for that lilac spider on her butt. I mean it doesn't TERRIFY me, but it's spider-y enough to make my tummy tickle a little bit. I don't know what to do!! I feel bad for Webina! I want to like her because she's almost perfect save for that spider!
(I haven't opened her by the way, just checked her out from the side).
Arachnophobia is something I'd really like to get over, but I'm not sure if it's worth keeping Webina around if I'm going to be weird about her when she could belong with someone else?
I know this is weird because it's just a toy, but I'd appreciate any advice!

I didn't want to get Webina after I saw that she has that spider on her back. It's freaking creepy. I wouldn't say I'm arachnophobic but I have a pretty extreme dislike of certain bugs, spiders being one of them. I picked her up in store when I saw her anyway. I just don't ever turn her around I really wish the spider were removable, like wings on Zelfs are, but alas it's molded on Webina has the cutest face though, probably one of my fav. faces. I don't really have any advice. ^^;

its not weird! you just have a phobia and its perfectly normal to have a phobia, so don't you apologize! Im sure that even after you open her you could sell her to someone else for the same price. Me myself, I actually really love spiders and moths, but as ive mentioned before I would have a panic attack if they were roaming around free around me. Im terrified of 99.9 percent of bugs due to childhood trama XD so I kinda get you. but like I said before since webina is so rare I think even if you take her out you could probably sell it for the same price you bought it. Maybe it could be good practice

I think it will be practice for me and I think I will open her she's way too cute not to give her a chance, but yeah I wish that spider wasn't there!! Oh well, maybe the fact that it's a nice soft purple will help? It's a pretty color! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Or has it always been there (you don't have to answer) It's interesting because it hadn't always been there- I used to play with daddy long legs in the yard as a kid! It hit me when I was about 9-10 and I have no idea why! There wasn't a bad experience or anything! I'm gonna do my best to give Webina the love she deserves Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a bit of a phobia about cockroaches, after one jumped on my head when I was a kid. LOL! It was hanging upside-down from the ceiling, and saw my head passing underneath ... and jumped. It wasn't terrifying so much as I just felt like I had to wash my hair nine times in a row afterward. LOL. I'm fine with spiders, though. Anyway, if anyone decides they don't want their Webinas, I'll take them.

Funny thing is, they just kinda wanted a place to chill so it didn't bother me! I think spiders just have two too many leggies XD

Reporting back- I opened her, couldn't deal with it. Sad since her scheme is so pretty but she just creeps me out I'm sorry Webina it's nothing personal! I figured it out- it's not so much the spider, but the fact that it kinda looks like a tumor growing out of her backside to me...sorry, I know that's gross but that's all I could think of, on top of the fact that a spider is literally attached to her back... Luckily she may have a new home soon.

I understand what you mean about how the spider's attached, Mermalade. Flitter having a dragonfly attached to his back instead of just the wings struck me as a little odd too. I thought the legs of the spider were supposed to be extra arms for Webina at first.

I understand. I'm a little arachnophobic (I'm slowly getting over it, since I actually think spiders are adorable) but I'm not fond of that spider on her back either - And I have the large version!

Perhaps you could try colouring over the spider with a black marker pen? That may help!?!

Just think of the spider as her pet!!
Oo also think of it as Webina can talk to spiders so since she knows you hate them she'll tell them to stay away!

I would think she would instead be offended and sic the wrath of all local spiders upon me! I mean that's what I would do with that power...hehehehehe- it's alright, I'll pass her on to someone who wants her and keep some room for the S3s I'm hunting!! Manny! Sealia! Ty Foon! I always thought of the spider as a backpack XD
I can't believe your not afraid of giant flying Latino roaches! That's literally how my bug phobia started. I'm from Puerto Rico and where some of my family lives are a few houses surrounded by fruit trees for miles. So their houses get a lot of these giant roaches. But not only that.acouple times my family had to stay in another house nearby (when I was much younger)and every hour my mom would have to vacuum because bugs of all kinds were just everywhere, just all over the floor! I literally refused to move off furniture XD it looked like the big city scene from a bugs life. But the roach problem is the worst, if u had to pee at night and you went into the bathroom and turned on the lights, the whole room would move. It's not that they're homes were dirty, cause they weren't, it was just because of all the tropical fruit trees surrounding us.

Haha I think it's just because a) didn't live around them for more than a month at a time and b) I didn't spend a lot of time in houses, I would just come home exhausted and go to sleep! Also they tended to mind their own business. Spiders on the other hand, have a fondness for my bedroom and my bathroom so that is not appreciated.

I wish these roaches knew how to mind they're own bussiness. These roaches were just everywhere (Shakes) they didn't care at all. Kinda like New York pigeons lol
Luckily I don't find many bugs inside my house. A few on occasion. Sounds like the spiders can smell ur fear if they're always in your room XD

My mom has battled roaches for the past 20 years, and she keeps her entire house spotlessly clean. But she lives right next to the woods, and a long time ago, they decided that they liked living inside her walls. *Shudder.* I went to Puerto Rico once. I've never seen such big bugs in my entire life! LOL. I remember that the entire island was very beautiful, it rained a lot and there were a lot of stray cats. It was a wonderful place to get to visit.

So yes bugs year round! Winter is usually like still pretty warm XD That's another thing I don't like. Their is a poop ton of stray animals running around. It breaks my heart my cosin was confused when I told him that it wasent like that over here.but I hear that that issue is getting better. But other than that I love my island x) especially the food mmmmmmmmmm my mom just got back and brought me some fruits and snacks <3 but they took away the mangos she was going to bring me. ;_; I almost cried when she told me.

Omigosh, the food! The food in Puerto Rico was incredible. Yum. My mom's family is Greek, so I grew up around a lot of really awesome Greek food, but Puerto Rican food is SO GOOD too.

I cook pretty much every Puerto Rican dish, but it's always twice as yummie eating it on the island. It's always the first thing my family does when we go.
