I've stated before that I like taking the little bio's the zelfs come with and using that as a starting point but expanding on it to give my zelfs even more character and personality. So I thought it'd be fun to discuss everyone's head canons for their zelfs so we can compare similarities and differences, and maybe even get some new head canons going inspired from others. You don't need to own the zelf to have head canon for them. I've got head canons for zelfs I don't own.  No head canon? How about ships? Which zelfs do you pair up and why? Winged girls Angelala, Lunanne and Pega Sue are BFFs. (Another reason I need Angelala xD) Float is the newest addition to their circle and ofcourse she loves her brother Ty dearly. Ty's kinda on the outside of the group. He's only there because of Float. The other girls aren't too sure what to make of him. Sometimes he's happy, other times he can come off as grumpy and when he's angry, EVERYONE knows about it. (He accidentally makes it storm) Cupie I am sure will also be joining this group. Elfa and Birchy are cousins. They get on fairly well but Elfa's bio states that she prefers not to do her chores so I see the helpful Birchy ending up doing her share. He wishes she would do her share, but being a helpful zelf, he's also happy to help her get them done. He's also a social butterfly and pretty much friends with everyone. Despite their differences Birchy is BFFs with Snap Jack (who's also friends with the water zelfs) who as a trickster, found common ground with Birchy's cousin Elfa (who he naturally met through Birchy). The two are not-so-secretly dating but have yet to tell Birchy. Birchy meanwhile has a crush on the shy Miss Clover... who likes him back too but he has yet to ask her out, and she is far too shy to ask him. (Another reason I need Miss Clover! XD) The Water crew: Basically everyone water related falls into this category. Mermalade is another social buttefly. She's cousins with Sealia and aside from the water zelfs, she gets on very well with Flamy (who's also good friends with Lil D). There my main "groups" if you will but I have a few more head canon for Zelfs I don't own. * Vampula and Webina are girlfriends who are best friends with Dolly (pink and black with a gothic/halloween feel to them) and also good friends with Spellinda but to a lesser extent. * Dorothy Doe and Manny HAVE be a couple! A moose and a deer... that live in the same habitat. Yep. There a couple.  (Also friends with Birchy.) * New headcanon for Flitter crushing on Float. Bio states Flitter always has his head in the clouds... and Float is the cloud zelf so it just seems to fit.  |

I like to ship Vampula and Garny, two of the first 'creepy-themed but cute' Zelfs. And Lullaby and Birchy because... well... Lullaby is a dream-themed Zelf (and just look at my username) and Birchy's 'caring boy' attitude fits with my boyfriend, so...*insert blushing emoticon here*
Also, I think Coco and Chi would be great friends, as well as Pandela and Snowphie

Ooooooh I like this Frostette! I'm afraid I haven't thought about head-cannons/ships in so much detail, but I love yours!! And I can see Dreamcatcher's aswell in my head! Who would you pair Catsby with??? I guess water related Zelfs would hang out, as would Insects, Woodland Creatures, Mythological etc etc. Maybe Dandy Lion, Snowphie, Catsby and Lil D' are all best buds too!?!

dreamcatcher Aww that's cute. I can see Vampula and Garny together too actually and can totally see the animals all being friends and hanging out. Starkle I'm glad you like the idea Don't worry about that, if you come up with any, you can always come back with them. I'm not sure who I would pair Catsby with at the moment. I kinda like the idea of him with Snowphie or Dandy-Lion (Also liking the idea of Snowphie and Dandy too) what with them all being felines, but I don't see any of them as gay so I guess it would have to be more of a bromance between the 3 of them. xD

I see Snowphie being the cute guy that doesn't know he's cute. Like, everyone's secret crush.
Dandy being a jock, little jealous of Snowphie.
And Catsby being the artsy lunatic. <3

My head canons develop from my humanization of them.
Snaps likes vampula because snaps collects cute things and he thinks vampy is the queen of cute. He also helps her with her clothing designs. But they are known to do other art related things.
I see birchy liking ty foon.
Garney usually hangs out with the dudes. She likes to mess with birchy because he's such a push over. But birchy doesn't mind because when garney and snap jack get together they get into trouble XD they just don't know when to stop playing!
Vampula is BFF w webina even tho they like diff. Things. They still appreciate eachothers differences. They also like designing things together.
Pega's been kinda a loner. She likes reading or doing experiments. But she does hang with peeps from time to time. Or gets them to help her with experiments.
I'm finally inking and coloring the chosen zelfs from series 3 I humanized so I'll write more when they're posted. I wouldn't want to give it away!

I've been trying to write this stuff down, but basically I've been telling my daughter an ongoing zelf story and we've both come up with some ideas for the world they live in and the characters. It's kind of a medieval theme coz' she's been watching Gummi Bears a lot. I feel a little bashful posting these but I eventually wanna convert it into a written story so might as well, right? - The world they live in is called Norfindam. - Zelfs used to live in Zardenia, a beautiful land hidden away.. sort of like their own version of Atlantis, but Zardenia ended up falling and zelfs were scattered all throughout Norfindam. - Miss Clover, Jewely, and Snowphie belonged to a special tribe that made them sort of like demi-gods. This tribe were once the protectors of Zardenia. - Pega Sue was found abandoned as a baby and raised by trolls. So, she's very book smart but she never learned to fly and she's a bit rough around the edges. - Mermalade is an active explorer who got into a diving accident some years ago and is now mostly deaf. She lipreads to understand what other zelfs are saying. - Flamy has a much older brother for whom she was named. - Birchy is the leader of his own clan of zelfs (aka the series 2 characters, haha). He lives with them in a hidden meadow and is a very caring leader, but a bit overprotective. - The ancestors of the zelicious zelfs left Zardenia after a disagreement with the tribe of Jewely and co. - Kitsu is a very coy, gray area character. She comes and goes as she pleases and it's never quite clear who's side she's on. - Lunanne is a daydreamer and very left-brained and Webina is an engineering type. - Howlette can actually transform into a wolf. - Elfa can talk to animals as part of her forest elf powers. She's the only one who can understand Howlette when she's a wolf. - Flitter is the fastest zelf and is a bit cocky about it. - Lil'D still has a crush on Angelala, but in our story he's a tad younger than the other zelfs and she just thinks of him as a sweet kid. - Dorothy-Doe and Manny will probably end up together - Buttershy's an introvert, but also a sports fanatic. You don't often see shy characters who are also sporty so I thought that'd be cool. - Our design-your-zelf is named Ori and part of a mysterious zelf tribe known as the Oracles. - Garny and Flamy frequently clash with each other. (My daughter saw the webisode with them fighting and decided they like to squabble a lot) |

Hee hee this is a great idea for a thread! I was about to post one asking for people's headcanons but then I saw it already exists. XD
For myself, I have the following as firm facts in my head:
-Snap Jack and Angelala are an item and they stand together in my display, because their colors are inversed of each other, which I love when toys do that.
-Buddykins is a moth Zelf, not a Butterfly Zelf, because he clearly has fuzzy fur around her neck like moths do!
-Buddy and Mothra (er I mean Dolly lol) are usually hanging out together, since they're both moths. I see this more as friends than a crush, though.
-Pega Sue is bird...or something... but clearly not a pegasus despite what everyone says. Maybe if Moose had given her hooves and a tail!
-The Zelflicious Trio of Vampula, Spellinda, and Buttershy are different characters who are the cousins of the original three. Mostly because they threw in Green into the hair of Spellinda and Vampula, so they really don't look like their original selves much at all.
Important Gender Declarations!!
-Flamy is definitely a girl, no matter what Moose says. XD
-Garny is a boy, only because my friend started calling her 'him' and it stuck in my head lol. Plus the spider tattoo on his upper arm looks like something a boy gets to look cool. XD
-Snowphie is a boy, I know a lot of us think of him as a 'her' because of the name, but he just looks masculine to me >.>
-Other boys in my brood: Catsby, Snap Jack, Birchy, Dandy-Lion, Flitter, Lochlan, and Buddykins. The rest are girls.

Keep them coming. I love seeing similarities we have and then the complete opposites at the other end of the scale too Snap Jack I can definitely see that. Vampula I don't think our headcanons could be any more different (except for Webina and Vampula being close maybe and the BFF friendship of Birchy and Snap Jack I mean) xD Very curious about the Birchy x Ty Foon canon and definitely looking forward to seeing your humanized S3 zelfs I'm guessing Ty Foon will be one for sure... and maybe Float being his sister and all  Princess Crystella - Very interesting. I am loving your headcanons for Birchy, Elfa & Pega Sue in particular. I've always seen Miss Clover and Jewely getting on rather well too. Dragonflitter Completely agree about Garny being a boy. I've always seen him and Howlette as boys though neither are favourites of mine (and therefore not in my collection), so it doesn't really matter. xD Snowphie's name definitely does make me think girl, but at the same time I can accept either gender. I see Flamy as male though. Shipped him with Mermalade for a while too. xD |

This is how my Zelfs are currently paired up: Mermalade and Sealia Elfa and Birchy Lunanne and Snap Jack Catsby and Dorothy-Doe Flamy and Lochlan And my Float will be with her brother Ty Foon if I ever find him... |

The only ones I think of as a pair are Lunanne and Garny. (In this house, Garny is male. LOL.) Really, it's just because they were the first two I ever bought, and their colors look so nice together. You can see them together in my avatar.  |

- Elfa and Birchy are a couple who has 2 or 3 children (one of them being mini Lochlan)
- Ribbita is Birchys brother and Miss Clover is their sister
- Flamy and Tressa are siters
- Howlette and Flitter is a couple who has one son called Glitterbug (Mini glitter Spellinda)

nonesuch I quite like how you have yours paired up. I am very curious about the reason behind Catsby and Dorothy Doe though. Can understand the rest but this one seems a bit random. xD Violet I have always considered Garny male too thought there's nothing wrong with same sex pairs They do look nice together in your avatar and it's always nice to get zelfs together that you ship. TreeFrog Oh noes! XD Elfa and Birchy are cousins in this house and Birchy and Miss Clover are crushing on each other here I do like the idea of Flamy and Tressa being siblings though and I like the fact you use the lil zelfs as kids.

Frostette, No reason other than I think they look cute standing next to each other in my doll cabinet. Haha! I suppose it's also because they're my only two animal Zelfs.
