Since there are some Zelfs that only have an official release in large size, do you think it would be possible to customize some Mediums to look like them? I know the hair can be switched since I swapped the hair on my Elfa and my wiped Flamy who is waiting for inspiration to strike (The pink and green hair suits Elfa really well) and they can be painted but what about sculpting. I have heard of people using sculpt/fimo on G1-G3 MLPs and them surviving the bake cycle but what about Zelfs? Or would it be safer just sticking with air dry stuff?

I do a bit of customizing, but mainly the colouring and stuff, I haven't tried swapping the hair or even sculpting but I guess you might need a couple of go's to make it look how you want??!? If you got the time and spare Zelfs to use, then I would say give it a go! And don't forget to post your pictures!!! I desperately would love to have a medium versions of Deeno, Marsha, Talon and Noodles as I have nearly all of the mediums, so unless they bring them out I might end up making my own too! I had no idea you could swap the hair and would love to see pics of zelfs with swapped hair!
I really would like the large zelfs to get medium releases as I really want Marsha but much prefer the medium size. I'm thinking I will have to make an exception and get Marsha anyway though. If they release her in a medium size at a later date, then I'll just have to make another exception and own both. xD I don't really plan on getting any larges except her though.

I think this just became a thread about swapping hair, because I want to know about that, too! I've been wondering if it was possible. I have one I can experiment on.
It sounds like pink and green hair would be really pretty on Elfa! Do you have pictures?

I think the question really is if the hair's glued on or rooted. If it's glued on like a wig, it'd be completely swappable if you can remove it without tearing. =D

I'd feel a bit mean ripping out a Zelfs hair (how painful) but I'm very intrigued!
I hope Moose will eventually make medium versions of the new series 3 Super Zelfs. I adore Marsha, Dino (although Petal is very similar) and Noodles and would love them as medium Zelfs. If not it looks like I may just have to venture into the world of Super Zelfs!

Ooooo this is a cool idea! Even without swapping hair, if you get a Zelf with white hair like Angelala or Do-Do, you could always dye/fabric marker the hair to the correct color |

I can't sell her because I've already stripped off a lot of her paint. So I'm so tempted to use her for experimentation. Mwahahahahaa!!!!!  |

I can't believe what I just did! I just "deconstructed" my spare Angelala. I took off the hair and wings! I'm surprised I had the guts to do it. I used a hot hair dryer to soften the glue a bit. It was still difficult, even after softening the glue. I'll post pictures in the photo section tonight, so everyone can see how the Zelf is constructed. I have to go take some pictures now. *Goes off to get my camera*

Yep. I was able to take some photos of the poor thing bald. I'll post the pics in a little while in the "Zelfies" section. The head is a really weird shape under the hair! EDIT: POSTED!!! I just posted the pics in the "Zelfies" section.  |
