You see it at stores, you buy it. Easy, right? But sometimes when you buy a Zelf is more exciting than that. Let me put a few examples.
Spellinda was the first medium Zelf I've ever owned. I got her in Poland when I was in a shopping center with my cousin and some of her friends (all were around 20 years old, so that made me the youngest in the group). I found Zelfs in the toy aisle and it was a really big surprise, because I hadn't found any Polish store that sold Zelfs. And they were 8 euros while in Spain they were still worth 12-15 euros, so I bought her and put her in my bag as quickly as possible, because I didn't want my group to find out that I collect toys. She got an ink stain (curse my bag) on her foot that I couldn't been able to remove yet, but at least is a small faint spot and it doesn't bother me.
Garny was doomed to be a shelf sitter forever because her card and blister was beaten up and half open. Not a thing you wanted to gift to a child because it wasn't completely mint, even if you would discard the package later. I couldn't buy her because Zelfs were insanely expensive in that store (16 euros!), so everytime I checked the toy aisle I hid her behind all the other Zelfs to avoid her getting removed because of her broken package. Finally, they were having some toys at reduced prices, and Zelfs were 7 euros each. I went there and checked that there were only 5 Zelfs remaining: Lunnane, Howlette, Lil D, Flamy, Mermalade.... and beaten box Garny. So I bought her in a heartbeat and now she lives with someone who doesn't care about packages and recycles them instead
