I'm not a conspiracy theorist as such, but sometimes coincidences need to be shared and discussed. So here's our very own Coincidence Thread for anyone to share any Zelf related bizarre coincidences!  It can be anything you find, no matter how big or small! For Example, We voted Mermalade and Elfa in our top 3 Series 1 Zelfs, and now Moose include them in the new Zelicious Range! Wardah creates a pink haired Elfa on here, and now the newest Elfa has pink in her hair! Vampula's colours of pink, black and a vampire theme is similar to Monster High's Draculaura. Buttershy's name and personality is similar to Fluttershy from My Little Pony:Friendship is Magic. Any more to share?!? (Remember this is just a fun and friendly thread, so we are in no way complaining or accusing anyone, or any company of anything untowards!) |

Hightail (who is an alicorn) has the power of friendship, so she shares a similar theme with MLP:FiM.

I do wonder if someone at Moose is keeping an eye on this forum.... (if they are, Helllllooooooo! We love Zelfs!!!)  The new Series 4's, we predicted a few of them between us all, Red Panda, Squirrel, Shooting Stars, Phoenix, Monkey, Skeleton, Alicorn, Sheep, Teddy Bear and Tropical Zelfs were all suggestions on here. Even on my customs thread, I'd created a Water Dragon, Monkey and Galaxy Zelfs, so I am more than pleased!!! |

I suspect Moose watches this forum, too, and they're certainly using the ideas we've given them. I love that! A couple years ago, they asked people for ideas for their Zelfs, and I'd sent them the idea for a snow-themed Zelf. Then they introduced Snap Jack into the very next series! Now, it's quite probable that more than one person had the idea for a snow Zelf, so I'm not taking all the credit, here. But I was still thrilled that they made him, and of course I had to get him and he's now a permanent resident at my house.
The only one that I think really was a totally accidental coincidence was the Buttershy/Fluttershy thing. I don't think they did that on purpose. It was pretty awful at the time, because when Series 1 first came out, they had a bunch of nasty-tempered 13-year-olds writing on their Facebook page that they'd "stolen" Fluttershy's name. It was kind of ridiculous. I mean, there's also a Pokemon named Flutterby, but I never heard anyone screaming bloody murder about that name being "too similar" to the My Little Pony name. I have no idea whether the name Fluttershy came first, or the name Flutterby. But who cares which came first, anyway? It's all an issue of companies trying to combine cute words to make cute names for cute things.
