I had a dog for 15 years, but she died about 6 years ago. Since then, I'd missed having a dog. Well, me and my family finally adopted another dog two weeks ago. She is a small female mixed-breed. We got her from an animal shelter (the city pound). She's somewhere around 2 or 3 years old. She's so sweet! And you can tell she is very grateful for having a new home. She follows me around the house everywhere. She's curled up underneath my chair right now as I type this. (I have to be careful to not move my chair!) She's bonded with me in such a short amount of time. She wasn't spayed, so we got her spayed a week ago. She's much recovered now and doing quite well. I just wanted to show her off.

Awwwww so sweet! I'm so happy when people 'rescue' dogs from shelters! Every animal deserves a good home, and I hope you're all very happy together!!! x

This shelter has about a 65% kill rate (according to one source I saw), so it was good to be able to take one dog out of there.

What a cutie. And I agree with everyone else here, rescuing pets from shelters is always such a lovely thing to do.
