So, as you all know I love making custom Zelfs and I thought I'd like to do a set of Zodiac Zelfs (based on star signs - Aries, Taurus, Gemini etc) and have included a little doodle of proposed colour schemes and types of Zelfs, I originally posted this on the FB group and it threw up a discussion on colours associated with astrology so I'm opening it here, so people can post their thought and opinions as to what colours best symbolise their various star signs! So I've been on 10 different astrology sites, and whilst some star sign's colours are more or less set in stone, some of them change their colours around a lot. Aries, is almost unanimous in its chosen colour of Red. 9.5/10. So I think that one seems to be straightforward. Taurus, 6/10 say Green is their signature colour, 4/10 say pink is Taurus' colour. Gemini, 7/10 say Yellow, Orange comes second with 3/10 saying that is its colour. Green is 2/10. Cancer, 6/10 say White and 4/10 say Silver. With the Moon as its ruling planet, it looks likely to be these. Leo, is as you expect Oranges, Browns and Golds. 6/10 say Orange and Gold specifically. The rest say Brown and a couple of Yellows also in there. Virgo, is one of the more difficult to pin down, 5/10 say Blue. 2/10 say Brown. 3/10 say Pink. 2/10 say White. 2/10 say Grey. I don't know why I assumed it would be Pink, maybe because Virgo is seen as a female symbol?!? Not sure. Libra, is also quite hard to decipher. 5/10 say Green. 5/10 say Blue. 2/10 say Orange and 2/10 say Pink. Scorpio is quite easy on the other hand, they all say two colours, Black and Deep Red. 10/10 of them. Lol. Saggitarius is another toughie. I always assumed Green for some reason, Archer and Centaurs and Bows and Arrows but seems I am wrong. 5/10 say Purple for this star sign, 2/10 say Yellow, 4/10 say Blue. 2/10 say Green. Capricorn is a choice of 3 really. 8/10 say Black definitely. Brown is 3/10, and Indigo is 4/10. Aquarius is a mixture of Light Blues 5/10, Turquoises 5/10, Violets 3/10 and Lilacs 2/10. Silver also appears twice. Pisces is a little tricky, Sea Green appears 5/10, White 2/10 and various shades of Purple (lavender, lilac, violet also dotted throughout) Grrrrr! Not so straightforward. Aries, Gemini, Scorpio and Capricorn are very easy. I'd appreciate your thoughts, especially those of you who have the more trickier star signs, do you have a particular colour your think represents your Zodiac sign best??? |

Seeing as Aquarius is essentialy another water zelf, I'd stick to light blues |

Well for my sign, Virgo, that's an earth sign so I could see a colour theme like Birchy working for a Virgo Zelf- very earthy, browns, tans, beige, greens of all shades. Maybe Birchy is a Virgo! XD He is a Tree Spirit afterall ^^ one thing I might suggest for your Zodiac Zelfs is gemstones. Have you thought about giving them all a little birthstone gem somewhere on their body? A brown/green Zelf with a bright sapphire gem would look brilliant  |

Thanks for the replies JackSparx and Howlette! Yeah I'm an Aquarius myself Jacks, and I know our colours are purple and turquoise (my birthstone is Amethyst - again purple) and even though the symbol is the water bearer, Aquarius is actually an Air Sign not a Water sign, and I think I'd like to see other colours besides blue for water related Zelfs for a change, I just like hearing people's opinions! Virgo threw up lots of earthy colours Howly, blues, greens, browns and greys. Yeah I wonder which Zelfs people associate with the Zodiac, Mermalade could be Pisces, Dandy Lion could be Leo for sure! Maybe Baarbera for Aries, haha! I have a set of gemstone Zelfs I made previously, emerald, sapphire etc so I wasn't sure I wanted to include the birthstone element into the Zodiac Zelfs really, and the colours of the birthstones definitely don't fit with the colours but I think it could be real cute to have maybe little necklaces around the Zelfs necks with their birthstones in, that could be sweet?!? I think I need to track down some spare Zelfs to get started on this!!! Can't wait to get started!! |

That's funny, as I was reading your original post I was going to suggest her body be a white like that with the browns.
It's funny how people can be the same zodiac but have different birthstones. ^^
Like for myself, I would be a Virgo with a Peridot. ^^
My little brother is a Virgo with a Sapphire.

Thanks Zira, I had fun making them and coming up with different colours and themes for them! I think Birthstones tend to go from Month to Month as opposed to Star Sign by Star Sign so that's how they cross over!?! I think some turned out better than others, I'll be honest! But there's usually some kind of method to my madness!! Aww thanks Twinks, glad you like them! I think if I hadn't done them, somebody else would have I'm sure! I'm an Aquarius, so I'm partial to little Orin and his rainbow hair! Hee hee. |
