Hi everyone! I am totally new to Zelfs. My daughter just found them and fell in love (so did I). Is there a thread on this forum that has some info for a total newbie or could someone help out? I printed the collector's posters that are on the Zelf website but I can't figure out why some of the Zelfs are listed on both the Series 3 and Series 4 posters. They don't appear to be different...for example, Pandela, Cupie, Sugar Bunny? Also, other than the limited edition ones...how do you know which ones are more rare than others? Thanks for any info!

Hi! There are several of us who are parents with children who like Zelfs. I'm a mom of a 7-year-old, and we both like Zelfs. I actually keep a few Zelfs near my bed, and I'm sure my ever-tolerant husband must think I'm nuts, but he's used to it by now, I guess. LOL! This information sheet done by Rainsong is a good place to start learning about what Zelfs have already been released: love-yourzelf.freeforums.net/thread/58/zelf-tracking-sheet-update-15Yeah, Moose Toys (the Australian company that makes the Zelfs) gets a bit confusing sometimes with their fliers, so sometimes it's difficult to tell what Zelf was released in what series. Rainsong has kept track of it quite well, though.

As far as the limited edition ones ... Every year, Moose Toys does one limited edition Zelf as a marketing technique to increase interest in the line. The first one was a Zelf with a four-leaf clover theme (called "Miss Clover"), and she was such a hit, they've continued to make limited edition Zelfs in every series since. (We're on Series 4 now.) These are the rares that are difficult to find.

Thank you! That will be a big help. So the rare ones are just sold in the same types of packs as the others? They aren't hidden right? I was wondering if some were more rare but maybe it is just about popularity. My daughter wants the skeleton and it seems to be impossible to find lol!

Hi Me and my daughter also share a zelf-passion. It's fun to know so many parents and kids collect them together The rare ones are packaged just like the other mediums. The only difference is that the rares from series 3 onwards has "Limited edition zelf" printet on their packs. Where you find the rares seems to vary depending on which country you are from. In the US, and here in Norway, f.ex they are found in shops with the other mediums while in the UK you usually receive a free rare if you send in a form with receipts from other zelf purchases (for 30 pounds I believe, and while stocks last). An exception to this was Snowphie (series 3) where you got a cd if you spent a certain amount on zelfs and 1000 of those cds contained a winning message to claim the rare. I haven't heard of any other country having this kind of promotion for the rares though (correct me if I'm wrong guys ). Sketalia seems hard to find for some reason although she is not rare. I found ours on ebay, but I had to stalk a while to get her at a reasonable price. Same goes for Pandela (series 3) and Ooma (series 4).

Hi mom2lulu, welcome to the forums! I think people have mostly answered your questions and I think we all keep each other updated on here, on sales and where you can find them so I think you'll find this forum useful!?! Apart from the Rare's (Miss Clover - s1, Jewely - s2, Snowphie - s3, and Cleocat - s4) the harder to find ones for each series seem to be - s2 - Birchy, Kitsu and Snap Jack I believe are the harder to find ones. s3 - Manny and Pandela are this series harder to find ones. s4 - Definitely Sketalia and Flare can be tricky to get hold of. Some of the second and third series were re-released as part of the following series, as places like the US got them in different waves so Sugar Bunny, Pandela, Cupie etc are Series 3 and have been redistributed as part of Series 4 Wave 1 also. Very confusing I know! The leaflets and Rainsongs Info should tell you there are usually 12-14 Zelfs per series but if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask!!!

I'll add: s1 - Angelala, Pega Sue, Elfa and Howlette seem to be harder to come by these days s2 - Lochlan, Flitter, Teeny Genie and Webina are also harder to find Zelfs in this series, as well as the 6 Masquerade Zelfs Welcome to collecting Zelfs it's a little overwhelming at first, but once you're familiar with all of the different series it becomes easier. Good luck on your hunt for more! <3

Thank you everyone! We are so excited to collect these. The good thing is that when you just begin, they are all new and fun...even if they are very common! I love all the suggestions for who seems to be hard to find though because when I'm in the stores now, I have no idea if I have stumbled upon a treasure or not! So far, I was excited to find Ooma and there was a fire one (Lil D I think) in my store the other day that I grabbed because I knew he was from an older series. I will definitely keep a lookout for the others you all have suggested, as well as that rascal Sketalia!

Birchy is one of the hard to find ones, too, if no one mentioned him. Some Toys'R'Us stores (if you're in America, that is) do not carry them. Some only carry small quantities, etc - it varies by store. My local TRU hasn't gotten many of series 4, though they did apparently just get a shipment in. My mom and I were lucky to find them Friday, and they had already been picked through some. TRU is the only place in the US that sells them. Other countries (particularly Australia & the UK) seem to have more options - there is another thread here that does a break down of which places sell Zelfs, and in what country. This forum is terrific for any questions you have, and amazingly friendly And thank you everyone who's mentioned the tracking sheet - you've really made it feel like I've actually done something terrific there
