Hi Zelfies! Long time no see been busy lately, but I never forget about you! <3 Anyway, I won a set of series 1 Zelfs off of eBay, they were owned by a child so their hair arrived as a bit of a crazy mess! I looked up ways of repairing faux fur and came across a tutorial on using a blow dryer to liven up mussy fur again. I read more about it to be sure, and discovered there are a lot of mixed feelings on using unnatural heat on faux fur fibers. I decided to use a double, Elfa, to test on. Worked great! So I went ahead and did them all, and I am happy to report no problems whatsoever All I did was awkwardly hold a blow dryer between my thighs and combed from tip to base, front first then back with the blow dryer on the medium setting using the wider/thicker bristle end of a regular fine tooth comb. They look brand new again! To give proper credit, the before pic for Pega Sue was taken by Atlanticcitygm from eBay. This Ribbita was not from the lot, I bought her from Hong Kong through eBay and she arrived in a plastic bag with her hair folded over in a total mess, I couldn't really budge it from this folded over style it had turned into. I remembered this morning that she needed a hair repair as well and decided to do a before and after of her ^^ she only took about 1-2 minutes (and I was able to hold the head pretty darn close to the blow dryer to really get out the wrinkles, you might be able to do the same! Use caution as I can't speak for all blow dryer models) So there you have it! Blow dryers are completely safe to repair Zelf hair when used with common sense ^^ it's fun, too! It was SO satisfying making them look so nice and new again * 3* <3 if only Zelfs were easier to find 2nd hand, I'd repair Zelf hair whenever I could! (and then re-name myself AGAIN to Tressa >;D j/k)

Very nice. That did make a big difference. I have a couple with hair that looks like the "before" pictures.

Wow, what a difference between the two! I have an Oceana that came right out of the box with messy hair, so I may have to try this on her. Thanks for the great tips.

What about ones with textured hair like Cyril or ones with tinsel in their hair?

Oh I hadn't thought of using a hair dryer to do this on synthetic hair, thats cool! I know that using a tiny bit of water (sprinkled) and a straight iron works WONDERS on super knotted/damaged 90s Troll hair which seems to be/looks like it is made of the same material. FYI for anyone that doesnt own a hair dryer like me but does own a straight iron haha
