I have just started discovering Pullip and friends. I got curious after seeing some reviews on Youtube and ordered Alice du Jardin Mint from Pullipstyle. She is gorgeous! I haven't changed her body, clothes or anything though. I just keep her on display. I'd like to get one to play around with too. Do you have any recommendations for where to get clothes etc? (that ship worldwide). And do you change the body on yours? If so what are the pros and cons of the different types? (a lot of questions here, I'm a novice when it comes to this type of doll )

(that ship worldwide). And do you change the body on yours? If so what are the pros and cons of the different types? (a lot of questions here, I'm a novice when it comes to this type of doll ) Awesome Alice du jardin is one of my faves and on my endless wish list sorry for late reply I'm on holiday in the usa at the moment for clothes I mostly sew all my pullips clothes but I know some people do not enjoy sewing such tiny clothes as it can get really fiddly :} Its most likely that Alice du jardin is on a type 4 body ( the newest one) so quite a few Barbie clothes will fit it's not a100 % guaranteed fit with all clothes but I have had quite a high success rate with barbie tops and dresses you could also try some other 1/6th scale doll clothes I have a couple of "sparkle girl" dresses that fit As for the body I person do not feel the need to change my dolls body as I am happy with it as is however the most common body swaps are for around 25 cm obitsus the peg that connects the neck to the body does need some modding though ( it either involves sanding or using rubber bands) . If you do decide to change bodies make sure the the replacement body is in 1/6th scale and be sure to check out tutorials on the web before taking the plunge also be aware that if you plan to change the body you will need to remove the wig here is a really good link to some body comparisons: if you have anymore questions feel free to ask link

Thanks for answering all my questions:) I'd never have thought Barbie's clothes would fit Pullip dolls, but now I'll surely give it a go. I have quite a few Barbies with various accessories from when I was a kid after all. I'm just going to have to get myself another Pullip as I think Alice looks so good in her original stock I don't have the heart to take it off My daughter has Akemi so maybe she'll like trying different outfits on her though. I don't think I'll be changing their bodies either. It's just that I see so many people doing it I was wondering if it's considered a necessity of sorts.. So who's on your wishlist? I'm trying to decide on one with a simpler stock so it'll feel easier to put her in different outfits. But I end up drooling over Lunatic Queen, Wilhelmina, Romantic Alice and little pouty lunatic Alice instead The design on those dolls looks amazing. I wish once again my display cabinet was just a little bigger

Those are all great looking dolls I've been thinking about Merl too actually. She looks like she could pull off most outfits I'd want to put her in. And the stock she comes with seems to be really detailed and nice. My daughter loves Akemi too. She saved up for her for a good while because she was "the cutest doll I've ever seen" I think she recognised a kindred spirit of sorts since she too likes to mix clothes with all kinds of patterns and colours and dreams of the day when she can dye her hair (she has to make do with some colourful extensions for now since she is so young)

I got inspired by our conversation and ordered Merl... I'm going to search for extra clothes for her while I wait for her to arrive. We also tried some of Barbie's clothes on Akemi today, and some of the smaller size dresses fit her quite well. Thanks for letting me know One more question though: when I browse websites offering outfits for dolls many of the descriptions say "for Blythe, Pullip...etc", but I think Blythe looks much smaller than Pullip. Do you know if one size fits both doll types?

Do you know if one size fits both doll types? That's amazing news, I'm so glad I could help which merl did you get regular version or nostalgia version? for the clothes personally I do not own a Blythe ( although I would love too) but I have owned some Blythe clothes. The tops and dresses are lose in the chest area (but still useable) on a pullip as Blythes are thicker in the chest . Hat and head gear is very loose but I have made I work in the past. Skirts and trousers look as though they may come up a bit short on a pullip as Blythelegs are clearly shorter. If the clothes in are modelled on a Pullip they should be fine to order other wise order at your discretion. Life you don't want to run the risk of it not fitting there are many shops on etsy that sell beautiful clothes just for pullips. You could even try and sew your own clothes (there are plenty of tutorials online for this I can find you some links for some if you like hope this helps and congrats on your new girl

Thanks for all your helpful answers. I'm a little less confused now I got the regular Merl and I'm really excited for her to arrive. I found what looks like a nice little shop in Canada that sells Pullip clothes and ordered some dresses and a pair of shoes. It'll be interesting to see how they look in person. Besides, me and my daughter stopped by TRU today and got some style Barbies on clearance. Akemi stole their clothes when we got home and now she's totally glammed up in gold and leopard prints A successful experiment I think. I'll try taking some photos and post them here (if only I'll work out how eventually....)

Awesome I bet akemi looks amazing in her new wardrobe I find so hard waiting for a new doll to arrive I am always super excited and want it there and then ,so I wish you luck with your wait for merl hopefully it won't be too long i would love to see some pics this is how I post pics I don't know if it is any use to you :if you have the photos on the device you are posting from you can just go to reply (not quick reply) click on attachments in the top right corner, click add attachments, select photos from the selection it should give you from your computer/tablet and press insert when you want them in the post and that's about it I hope that helps if not just ask me or a moderator for help uploading pics

Natural light makes all the difference. You mentioned etsy shops that sell Pullip clothes earlier. Feels like I've been waiting for Merl for ages (although it's only been 5 days.. ) so I'm trying to make time pass faster by surfing around online for outfits etc for her. Do you have any favorite shops on etsy or other places? It would be fun to know your experiences. I'm not much good at sewing, but if you know of any nice tutorials I'd be more than happy to get info. My mom is a talented crafter so maybe she could try teaching me (again..LOL).

Hi sorry for late reply I have been super busy for clothes on etsy you can check if a seller is respectable and the products are of good quality you can check ratings and reviews on the sellers shop page if the ratings are good you can pretty much choose whatever you like best another place to check out is Mimiwoo.com they sell outfits, wigs shoes and they have international shipping too i will have a look for some tutorials for you over the next few days and post them here

Thanks There are some lovely stores on Etsy. I've test-ordered from quite a few of them now and am super excited to see if the clothes look as good in real life as in the photos. Got my package from the Canadian store I mentioned earlier (Sugar Lattice Doll Boutique in case you want to check them out) and those clothes/shoes are really well made. Merl will probably arrive tomorrow or the day after too so lots of things to look forward to

Thanks for this (and sorry I haven't answered sooner. It's just summer decided to visit us finally so I've been outside trying to get as much sun as possible and haven't been online much at all for a couple of weeks) My Froggy Stuff is a favorite of mine as well. I used to watch her all the time when I was making doll beds and stuff for our monster high dolls. Merl came btw and I do recommend her if she's on your want list. She is really versatile when it comes to outfits. Mine likes the lolita style though I think
