I just wanted to ask what you all think of the painted hair patterning on the new series, I like the look of it from a distance but find I am constantly worried about playing with or styling their hair which is one of the things I enjoy. I would love to hear fellow collectors opinions?

Not a fan. It's like the hair stripe deal with MH dolls, once it separates it just gradually flakes away. One of the main play features of a Zelf is brushing and styling the hair, so for that reason I hope they don't pass it on to any future series. It LOOKS neat, but I like my toys to stay the same way they were when I got 'em, and the hair paint looks pretty delicate.

When I first heard about it I thought they were going to use textured fur like they did on Cyril or Oceana. Things like wavy hair or hair that starts one color and ends another.

It is good to know I am not the only one who does not like the patterning Stardust, as you say playing with Zelfs hair is a big plus point and this really limits it. It is a shame the patterning could not have been dyed on so it could still be styled but I suppose that would not be very cost effective.
Wardah I think you are right textured hair of multi-coloured would have for me been much better.

I hate it. I hope it flakes away on mine. LOL! So good to know I am not the only one who is not a fan Violet!  ) I have also had some trouble using the new spiral hair accessories they seem to just pop off, I much prefer the clips for me they were much more usable.

I must admit it doesn't bother me so much, but I can totally understand your points and reasons. I think perhaps they could have done it better, rather than just paint and stencil onto the hair, but I have no idea how!?!  |

Clearly not in the majority here but I have to say I do really like it - not that I would have it on all of them but a few is nice. Not sure why, just think it adds a wee bit of character. Although, like you all say, it does take away from being able to brush and style their hair.

I kinda wish they'd done that instead, but I have yet to see them up close with the printed hair so it's hard to know for sure my final feelings on it. |

I'm not a fan and I'd much rather have the mutli-coloured hair over patterns but it doesn't change my opinion on the zelfs that have it. Think I've just accepted it to be honest. I am hoping we won't be seeing any more of it though.
